Cookie Party Favors- Surf's Up Baby Shower

I had the idea for quite a while that I wanted to make decorated sugar cookie surfboards for the party favors but really had no idea how. I did some research and decided to just jump right in and give it a try! I'm really pleased with how well they turned out!!  Sorry for all the pics... I can't help myself!

At first I just filled them, (which is called flooding) but I thought they looked a little too plain. Plus it didn't look as smooth as I wanted, so... I had to embellish!!  I went a little crazy with the dots... but it's cute!

Here's some of the cookies before I finished adding details.

Lastly, here's a picture of the entryway at the party where the favors were set out. I like how the mirror kinda gives you a sneak peak at some of the party decor!!  I'm breaking up the pictures into separate posts so stay tuned to see more!!

If you're interested, or even if you're not... I think it's right to site where the original idea came from and where I gathered my inspiration for these. So be sure to check out these AMAZING websites!! They are the reason I decided to try "flooding".

Bake at 350  *some of the coolest cookies I've ever seen! Check out the beer and hot dogs cookies!!

The Decorated Cookie   *GREAT tutorials to show you exactly what to do, including drawing diagrams!

I don't feel right about grabbing other people's photos, so be sure to check these out... they are the actual photos I based my cookies on.
